Terms & Conditions

The following is the Membership Agreement between Rutgers AAUP-AFT (“We” and “Us”) and the graduate fellow enrolling in membership (“You”). UPON ENROLLMENT, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. 

Membership Benefits. As a Member, You are entitled to the rights of union membership described in Article 1, Section 3 of the By-Laws of the Rutgers AAUP-AFT and Its Constituent Chapters. See the By-Laws for further details and limitations of your membership.

Membership Term. Your membership is effective for through the end of the academic year (June 30), at which time all memberships will be terminated. 

Payment of Membership Fee. The payment of Your monthly membership fee, as well as processing fees, is made automatically by a direct charge to the payment source authorized by You (“Payment Source”), in accordance with the payment terms to which You agreed. In the event that Your Payment Source cannot process the membership fee due to insufficient available credit or funds, We may, at our discretion, divide the total membership fee into incremental charges in order to process the total membership fee.

Continuation or Renewal of Membership. Unless You notify Us that You wish to terminate this Membership Agreement and cancel Your membership by following the instructions in the paragraph below titled “Termination of Membership,”,Your membership will continue until the end of the academic year, and You will be charged the monthly membership fee, which will appear on Your Payment Source statement. 

Termination of Membership. YOU MAY TERMINATE THIS MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT AND YOUR MEMBERSHIP AT ANY TIME BY CONTACTING US AT AAUP@RUTGERSAAUP.ORG AND CANCELING YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENTS THROUGH THE ACCOUNT ESTABLISHED FOR YOU WHEN YOU SIGNED UP. YOUR CANCELLATION WILL BE EFFECTIVE PROMPTLY UPON THE RECEIPT OF YOUR CANCELLATION REQUEST. 

Entire Agreement. This Membership Agreement contains all of the terms of membership, and no representations, inducements, promises or agreements concerning the membership not included in this Membership Agreement shall be effective or enforceable. If any of the terms of this Membership Agreement shall become invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms shall remain in full force and effect.

Consent to Electronic Communications. You consent to receive communications from Us about Your membership electronically, either by e-mail or by notices posted on the Rutgers AAUP-AFT website.
