Here is suggested language to include in your syllabi to show your commitment to supporting trans people in the Rutgers community.
I am firmly committed to diversity and equality in all areas of campus life, including specifically for members of the LGBTQ community. In this class, I will work to promote an anti-discriminatory environment where everyone feels safe and welcome and that affirms people of all gender expressions and gender identities. If your name is different than what is on the class roster, please let me know. Feel free to let me know your gender pronouns over email, in class, or in office hours—whatever your prefer.
