Dear colleague,
In our present moment, organized labor is a vital force to stand united for our families, communities, students, and unions. We are proud to stand in coalition with fellow #NJLaborUnited unions to take action in defense of democracy and higher education. In order to win our contract demands, it’s important that we organize and build power in the streets to demonstrate that we are willing to fight for our future and defend our communities.
Join fellow Rutgers union members on May 1, 2026 to march in May Day actions. We have decided to focus our union efforts on marches in north Jersey and south Jersey to concentrate our union strength. Read details for both locations below.
Jersey City – May 1, 3-6pm – Register here.
Address: City Hall, 280 Grove St, Jersey City, NJ
We will meet at Jersey City City Hall, then march with stops at Goldman Sachs, ending at Exchange Place.
Camden to Philadelphia – May 1, 3-5pm – Register here.
Address: Ben Franklin Bridge Walkway (NJ side), 468 Pearl Street, Camden, NJ
We will meet in Camden, then those who are able will march across the bridge together to attend the May Day rally in Philly. (If you’re unable to walk, we are preparing ridesharing options to take people directly to City Hall instead.)
Wear your union swag and tag all May Day social media posts with #NJLaborUnited.
In solidarity,
HP, Becky, and Cathy
