Takeaway: Sign up to join an action on Monday, August 14, at 12 p.m. at the offices of Chief Financial Officer J. Michael Gower and EVPAA Prabhas Moghe in Winants Hall (7 College Ave., New Brunswick) to protest the administration’s violations of our contract.
Dear colleague,
We hope you’ve been getting some rest this summer, but we’re writing now to tell you about our organizing plans to defend and properly implement all of the gains in our new contracts.
The administration’s violations of the contract have piled up throughout the summer: They have tried to push the cost of raises for grant-funded faculty, postdocs, and grad workers onto departments and schools, in breach of the requirement that these increases be centrally funded. They made it difficult and confusing for graduate workers to apply for funding extensions because of COVID delays, and then rejected a majority of those who applied. They botched retro pay so badly that some of us are still trying to get what we’re owed.
This is unacceptable—and we want to make sure the administration knows it. On Monday, August 14, at 12 p.m., we will visit the offices of Chief Financial Officer J. Michael Gower and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Prabhas Moghe in Winants Hall (7 College Ave., New Brunswick) to demand that the administration abide by our contract, centrally fund raises, and grant COVID funding extensions. And we will keep mobilizing through the summer and into the fall semester until they comply with the terms of our contract.
Fill out this form if you can join us next Monday or in the future.
In solidarity,
