Sign our solidarity statement ad and help stop the decline of Rutgers libraries. Be part of the powerful statement of solidarity with our librarians and ensure vital services survive.
Budget cuts are starving Rutgers’ libraries. Services to students and faculty are deteriorating, and resources we depend on are becoming unavailable. Library faculty who used to love their jobs now work in an environment of fear and retaliation: “Coming to work is painful for most of us, and morale is at an all-time low. Yet life in the libraries gets worse every day, and we continue to be a sinking ship.”* Librarians with invaluable expertise are retiring or leaving, and many RU libraries are understaffed: “We’re one sick faculty member away from a crisis.”* Please add your name to our solidarity statement ad to be published in our campus newspapers as a statement of support for our libraries and the services they provide.
“Please help the libraries. We are in dire straits and if we do not get help we will no longer be able to call ourselves a top tier university and library. “*
