Dear colleague,
We’re asking our members to fill out this survey so we can decide as a union how to respond to management’s continuing attacks that harm Rutgers workers, students, and our communities.
We spoke together last week at a town hall meeting, and we heard a lot of anger about unnecessary cuts and layoffs and a desire to take a stand. Now we need to hear from all of you. As we said at the meeting, this survey will help us learn what our members think of the challenges we face and what we are willing to do to confront management. If you want to look over what we’ve reported to you before you fill out the survey, you can review our previous messages here. For more background on the university’s financial situation, read this report from our union’s University Budget and Priorities Committee.
If you’re like us, you’re fearful but also hopeful about what tomorrow’s election will bring. But we want to ask you now to share your thoughts on our union’s future by filling out this survey by 5 p.m. on November 20. The results will be used to shape our next steps. Individuals’ responses will not be made public.
In solidarity,
Todd and Becky
