Rutgers AAUP-AFT stands with the faculty and staff of Goldsmiths, University of London, as they resist management plans to lay off 52 people during the academic year, including 20 academics in English & Creative Writing and History and 32 professional services staff members. We call on Goldsmiths management to abandon the threatened job cuts, which would disproportionately affect women, including many women of color, and would endanger programs such as Black British and Caribbean Literature and Queer and Black British History.
Our union pledges to support the international boycott of Goldsmith University called by the University and College Union and calls on higher ed workers at Rutgers and other US universities to refuse or cancel speaking engagements or invitations to conferences and events connected to Goldsmiths. #BoycottGoldsmiths
