If you are eligible for promotion – or overseeing someone else’s promotion -- please plan to attend the Rutgers AAUP-AFT's Promotion and Tenure Workshop/Panel Discussion for New Brunswick faculty.
There will be presentations from experts at every level of the evaluation process governed by the University’s Academic Reappointment/Promotion Instructions, e.g., department chair, A&P Committee member, dean and PRC member. There will also be a brief review of candidate responsibilities and packet preparation.
If you are soon to be considered for reappointment or promotion in the tenured ranks or just want more information about the process, hold the date of February 24 and plan to attend.
The workshop will take place in the School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) on the Cook/Douglass Campus. Coffee and a light breakfast will be available at 9:30am. The program will start promptly at 10am and run until Noon. Lunch will be available following the program. Additional information regarding the program and panelists, as well as instructions for RSVPs, will be sent soon — keep an eye out!
Similar workshops are being planned for Newark and Camden. Stay tuned and we will be sending messages out to faculty in Newark and Camden as soon as those dates are set.
If you have questions, please contact Wendy Asreen at the union office. She will be the staff member taking RSVPs for the Promotion and Tenure Workshops. Her email is firstname.lastname@example.org or call 732-964-1000, ext. 11.
