Full union members in the full-time faculty, TA-GA, Postdoc, and EOF units on all three campuses (New Brunswick-area, Newark, and Camden) have been sent ballot materials in the mail to their home address.
Dear Union Members:
Rutgers AAUP-AFT is conducting a secret ballot election for union officers and representatives. All full union members who are Full-Time Faculty, TA-GA, EOF Counselors, and Postdocs are eligible to vote for the Officer positions. The four Officer positions up for election are:
For President: Deepa Kumar
For Vice-President: David M. Hughes
For Secretary: Robert Scott
For Treasurer: Rebecca Givan
You may also write-in candidates and vote for them. The term of office runs from July 1, 2017-June 30, 2019 (two-year terms). To save a few trees, we did not prepare hard-copy sheets with the candidates' statements. Please read the statements by clicking here: EC Officer candidate statements online
Ballots have been sent via regular USPS mail to the home address we have on file for you. Follow the instructions that come with your ballot materials carefully. Return your marked ballot no later than 3pm on May 1, 2017 to Rutgers AAUP-AFT, 11 Stone Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 in the envelopes provided. You may drop off at the union office, if convenient, or mail by campus mail or regular US postal services.
Read candidate statements for EC reps by clicking on the name of the campus. The information about the four officer positions for the union-wide Executive Council is repeated on these pages.
BALLOT INSTRUCTIONS - Look for these instructions in the ballot materials mailed to your home address.
- After marking the ballot, fold and place in the small Ballot Envelope.
- Seal the small Ballot Envelope and place it in the larger return envelope.
- Complete all the return address information, including your signature, at the top left corner of the larger envelope. Without it, your ballot cannot be counted.
Ballots must be returned to the AAUP-AFT office by 3:00 PM on Monday, May 1, 2017. Use campus mail or U.S. mail or drop off in person.
Union members, your ballot is secret. Ballot envelopes are separated from return envelopes under committee supervision. Not until all envelopes have been separated are ballot envelopes opened under committee supervision.
Contact the union office at 732-964-1000, if you do not receive your ballot materials in the mail in a couple of days. We can re-send ballot materials, if you act fast. Reply by email to email@example.com
Please sign and print your name on the return address section of the larger envelope. Without this part being filled in correctly, we might not be able to count your ballot. Help us keep your ballot secret and make sure your vote counts.
