The Full-Time faculty and TA-GA bargaining unit has developed a healthcare insurance survey in partnership with other unions at Rutgers. We have invited employees to take part in an online survey (using the Survey Monkey platform).
This is an important survey about health insurance options that may be offered through Rutgers and the State Health Benefits Program. If we are to reverse the trend of simply shifting the cost of health insurance to the employee/patient, then member input is needed here. The purpose of the survey is to understand what types of health and wellness incentives may be of interest to employees as part of health insurance offered through Rutgers.
The survey is being sent to members of "legacy" Rutgers and "legacy" UMDNJ faculty and staff unions. The survey will take approximately 5-8 minutes. The survey will ask about employees about their current health insurance status, receptivity toward new types of health insurance and providers, and some questions about how they currently access health care providers. Again, if we are to devise ways to lower the cost of health care while maintaining coverage and improving health outcomes, then member (full union member and representation fee payer) input is critical.
There are no known risks or discomforts associated with this survey. The data will be collected anonymously so there will be no way to link responses to the employee's name or other identifying information. The data will only be reported in aggregate. It will be used to inform your union representatives as we proceed in finding ways to provide quality health care and lower overall health costs.
Participation in the survey is completely voluntary and employees can withdraw at any time.
