PTL Professional Development Fund Deadline: December 15, 2016

The Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Barbara A. Lee, sent this memo to Chancellors, Deans, Directors, and Department Chairs explaining the next round of applications from Part-Time Lecturers to have professional development activities reimbursed through an award from this annual fund. The Fund was negotiated by the PTL Faculty Chapter and the terms are contained in the collective negotiations agreement with RU administration.

The deadline to submit an application for the spring 2017 award distribution is Thursday, December 15, 2016.

The union strongly encourages all Part-Time Lecturers to apply. The project statement must indicate how the professional development activity directly benefits the learning experience of students in the courses/classrooms in which the PTL is currently teaching at Rutgers. The project must be endorsement first by the PTL's Department Chair or Program Director, then submitted to the Dean for approval.

The endorsed-and-approved request for funding should be sent in the form of an email to Nancy Carvalho at ncarvalho@oldqueens.rutgers.edu.

The applications for funding will be reviewed for merit and relevant by a committee estbalished for this purpose in the Center for Teaching Advancement and Assessment Research (CTAAR).
