Dog the B.O.G! Contract Action

Submitted by cstanford on Tue, 10/07/2014 - 09:44

When the Board of Governors meets in Camden on Thursday, October 9th, we want to make sure that they hear us loud and clear with our simple message that they should settle all campus union negotiations now - no more delays. The Board, as the highest decision-making body at Rutgers University, can direct President Barchi’s team to settle with us on a fair contract. Camden PTLs are encouraged to be part of the action because this solidarity action for your colleagues now will help the PTL Faculty chapter when they begin negotiating their successor agreement with the RU management next year.

Contract Action Rally in Camden, October 9 at 1:30 PM

Union members will be meeting up in the Camden Campus Center for a short rally at 1:30 - 2:30 PM. Please look for our table in the front lobby. If you can attend, RSVP to the Rutgers AAUP-AFT office via email: aaup@rutgersaaup.org or call 732-964-1000.

Dog the B.O.G! Email action

Everyone--no matter where you are located--can take a quick minute to email the Board members through the Secretary for the Board, Leslie Fehrenbach, in order to let them know that you support your union’s efforts to win a fair contract. We have provided a sample message that can be edited:

The BOG is scheduled to meet at 2 pm, go into closed session at 2:05pm, and then open for the public portion of the meeting at 3:30 pm. Review the details, including the October 9 BOG agenda and procedures for speaking to the members of the BOG here: http://governingboards.rutgers.edu/board-governors/board-governors-meeting-schedule-2014%E2%80%932015

Camden colleagues plan to attend the Board of Governors meeting in significant numbers beginning at 3:30 pm and continuing throughout the afternoon (end time indefinite). If you’re available, please come out to express your support for fair contracts for as much time as you have available, even if it is just 15-30 minutes.

Some faculty have already indicated their plans to speak directly to the Board, so if you’d like to get on the agenda to speak, please let us know and we can help you. Each speaker must individually contact the Secretary of the Board of Governors to indicate which actionable item on the agenda you plan to address. Leslie A. Fehrenbach is the Secretary for the Rutgers University Board of Governors.
