Summary of Our Historic Contract

We have won a historic contract and have signed a tentative agreement that you will soon vote on. Over the past week, our “final warning” to the BOG, our preparations and readiness to walk off the job, and very late-night bargaining changed the game. At the very precipice of a strike, the Administration finally conceded to a contract with equity, security, and dignity.

Bargaining Update - April 23

A major focus of the bargaining session was the working conditions of contingent faculty—Non-tenure Track (NTT) and Part-time Lecturers (PTLs). The Union made a number of significant and historic proposals, including the establishment of teaching tenure for teaching intensive faculty, fractional NTT appointments for PTLs, longer contracts (greater job security) for all contingent faculty

Whereas, Rutgers has proudly and publicly acknowledged their revolutionary history since the marking of its 250th Anniversary in 2016; and

Whereas, Rutgers proudly cites on a regular basis student involvement in campus and community activism over the years; and
